Two days from Phoenix: drive at night (see long-exposure pics from Monument Valley), bike the Slickrock Trail next day (with a quick hike in the Arches that afternoon), hang out in Moab, bike Bartlett Wash (wonderful) and Evolution (brutal) next day, drive back to Phoenix.
In Phoenix, I also checked out F.L.Wright's Taliesin West - very nice.
